How often should you Tweet? Quantity Vs. Quality

In Social Media Marketing, Twitter Engagement

I was recently asked how often should “I” tweet content in my account.

There is no right or wrong answer. The short answer is Tweeting to much is not good and not tweeting enough is not good. Twitter allows you to tweet 1000 times a day. Most of us would agree that is wayyyyy to much.

Personally I like 2-4 times a day. I think that is sufficient to convey whatever message you would like your followers to see. I found that the less I retweeted the more engagement (Retweets and Likes I received).

I see some accounts that retweet once per hour and have no retweets or likes. If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it does it make a sound? If you send out a tweet and no one retweets it did anyone see it? Probably not. If they did see it they did not care or feel that it was worth retweeting.

So the first thing that you want to do is analyze your content. Is it relevant? Is it engaging? If you can honestly and objectively answer yes to both of those questions then you need to target a new base of followers, because the ones you have don’t give a hoot(suite) about your content.

In short if you are not getting retweets then you should tweet a maximum of 2 times per day. If you are getting engagement I would consider Tweeting between 2-4 times per day.
